BWS, Customer Experience
BWS (along with Dan Murphy’s) is part of Endeavour Group, Australia’s premiere alcohol retailer. Endeavour chooses Small Batch Learning to deliver product, beverage category and customer experience training to its 15,000-strong team across 1,800 stores. Now in our third-year contract, in-app feedback from BWS teams rates the platform 4.6/5 for functionality, ease of use and training. Even better, according to BWS State Manager Dan Young, when teams engage in learning, customer experience scores jump.
The overall feedback is great – the teams find Small Batch Learning easy to use and learn from. Store managers can see it’s driving success.

BWS, New Hires
At BWS, Australia’s largest alcohol retailer with over 1,600 stores, Mike Smith, an Area Manager in Queensland, is rightly proud of his customer experience scores: his area is equal first in the state, and equal second nationally (out of 43 areas). Maintaining that standard means getting new stores and new team members up to speed, and that’s where Small Batch Learning has proved crucial.
Small Batch Learning is exactly as the title suggests –
quick, easy to understand, and relevant.
Our teams find both the
experience and content engaging,
and it's not only improved our area's customer metric for
team knowledge,
but helped us deliver a
consistent retail offer.

Dan Murphy’s, Decoded Spirits Awards
As well as ongoing category knowledge and customer experience training, Small Batch Learning provides operators with a stress-tested tool to achieve sales readiness for specific commercial initiatives, at scale. Take Dan Murphy’s annual Decoded Spirits Awards: to maximise the revenue opportunity in-store, it was essential to get shop-floor teams trained up and confident selling. Small Batch Learning therefore assigned sales-focused product lessons on each Decoded winner to all Dan Murphy’s stores, before the Awards went live, and achieved 2,000 training completions for every brand during the two-month campaign. This online approach is now repeated throughout the year’s trading periods to support all commercial activations – within a timeframe and budget that F2F training could never match.

Our team is hungry for lessons, so we're
always excited when new courses drop
on Small Batch Learning. The Decoded campaign and its training incentive encouraged our team to get learning, and
the results were fantastic in terms of team knowledge.
It meant the team were
more confident
across the Decoded winning products, and
better able to give advice to customers.
